Missions

Local and Global Missions

Annandale Evangelical Free Church supports eleven missionary families.  Our missionary families are based in our metro community, nationally, and in five other countries.  Their diverse ministries include discipleship and teaching, church planting, friendship evangelism, ministry to at-risk teens, ministry to women and children in crisis, refugee ministry, and recruiting and training missionaries for the Muslim world.

Additionally, we support three organizations:  Hispanic Ministry in Monticello, a care home for women in crisis in Romania, and a theological college in the Philippines.

Along with financial support, we strive to provide prayer support for our missionary family and to meet special needs as they arise.  We keep our congregation informed by means of monthly missionary spotlights and an annual mission conference.

A booklet detailing our missionary family is available at the missions display in the foyer here at AEFC.

Short Term Missions

Short term teams are a big part of our missions program at Annandale Evangelical Free Church. Participation on a team provides the opportunity to support and work with other churches and followers of Jesus.  Our goal is to share the Gospel of Jesus and provide needed assistance to others when possible.  Most importantly, it changes the person who goes!  Participants gain a broader perspective of the world, a heart for the lost, and a deeper understanding of the work and needs of the missionaries on the field.

We typically send several teams each year to partner in ministry with our own missionary families.  Some examples of types of teams include: evangelistic camps (English, aviation, marriage, sports, children’s, etc.), construction/work teams, and friendship evangelism teams.  Teams have gone to Minneapolis, Louisiana, New York, Texas, Canada, Europe, India, Philippines, Romania, Uganda, Middle East, and East Asia.

If you are interested in participating in a short-term missions team, please contact Missions Team Chair Mike Gesler at 320-236-2606, or Missions Secretary Carol Gesler at the church office.

Cameroon Blessing Account

In 2003, Annandale Evangelical Free Church received a gift of nearly $130,000 to be used for missions.  The Cameroon Blessing account was established, allowing us to be a channel of God’s blessing to many missionaries and projects around the world.  Funds have been provided for land purchases, building projects, a pastoral internship, survey trips, and personal needs of our missionary family.

More information is provided in a brochure available at the missions display in the foyer here at AEFC.
