Did you know that January is national Blood Donor Month? Blood products are used in a variety of situations and can be planned (major surgery or cancer) or unexpected (newborn or trauma). The blood used in an emergency is already on the shelves before the event occurs. The blood type most often requested by hospitals is Type O. Dave and Adele Moneymaker of Uniontown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 28 with a family gathering at Moscow’s University Inn. Endicott Endicott Community Club met Jan. 14 at the Endicott Food Center. Members present were Sue Bafus, Gail Bilow, Leslie Starriat, Ann Stoner, Myrna Morasch, Cinda Tribble and Anne Lowe. Endicott School Principal Mike Olson gave an update on the tree project at the school. An arborist from Spokane came down to assess the removal and replacement of trees on school property. Dusty Damien Perron, who is living with his uncle Bryan Jones of Dusty and is a student at Colfax High School, spent the Christmas holidays visiting his parents, friends and the ski slopes in the Italian Alps. When he was asked about his trip, he reported the good news was that the airlines didn’t lose his luggage. All 2013 City of Palouse compost permits, regardless of issue date, are now expired. Residents of Palouse are required to get one of the permits to use the town compost facility for dumping leaves, grass and soft vegetation. The 2014 permits are now available at city hall for $15. Also, Palouse dog licenses for 2013 are expired. New dog licenses for 2014 are available at $5 for spayed and neutered dogs and $10 for others.
